Buildng on unsupplyed island

I would like to build a naval base on a Russian Island on the Bering Strait but there is no supply on it. Is there a way to bring supply there?
And while talking about the Bering Strait .. Why do Siberia and Alaska are so far away from each others?...

Distortion from taking the world which is spherical and transferring it to a cylindrical representation. Much like A flat map is distorted.

The further you get from the equator the more distortion there is.

If memory serves, the engineer has to build the "hub" first, then it starts producing enough supply to build anything else.

New problem, I set an engineer to construct on a unsupllyed island of Hawaii after conquring it with USSR, but even a month after there is nothing on it... I set the engineer under my direct control and he didn't moved since I give the Construction order.

Click on the hex, and then select the Land icon from the radial dial. Now select Military Presence. Window will show you the hex terrain type. Please type the X and Y listing here so we can see the exact spot you are working with, it can also be seen in this window.

By the way, there should be no unsupplied parts of the Hawaii Island chain that you can build on. Does the cursor turn green when you try to build the facility?
