hi,i think the layout is nice but only if hexes were 1 mile instead 16 miles each.the cruisers 50 miles away from carrier has no meaning except early warning but for sure that warning will be their last signal before sunked from the enemy missiles.next in line to sink its the carrier cause now that needs hi anti air protection from cruisers and destroyers cant have it cause there are 50 miles away and the front line already sunked .even with 280 miles range its too late for last line cruisers and destroyers to react in a misille salvo.only def for carrier will be the planes onboard but never can stop all those misilles.GIJoe597 wrote:One point about organizing fleets. I do not place all 7 ships of the CVBG in the same hex. I will place the DD(G)s ahead of the main fleet approx 3 hexes forward and just enough to left and right so thier field of view overlaps. You can see all the hexes around the fleet are visible. The point is to protect that mobile airfield at all costs.
