Conscription Option and Reservists

I miss the option of conscription in SR2010 a lot right now (Playing Malaysia, attempting to conquer SEA with a unemployment rate of 3.1% and 11% inflation). As most of the players will, intentionally or unintentionally, build a large army and development economy simultaneously, it will be nice to have the conscription option as a tool to pull some of the population back from the civilian economy.

Conscription should affect DAR and government income, but that option should be present in game to give the player a tool to increase no. of reservists.

If Conscription added in would work to increase the reserve gathering rate,id agree.
And even if it was only a minro effect and mostly for show, id still agree,even though it would probably annoy some people.

Actually it's already there.

If you check your minister priorities there is one about increasing reserve personnel. That makes the minister do behind the scene changes including the old conscription function that has a negative DAR effect but increases reserve personnel growth rates.

If we pick that priority for the minister, will it be preformed even if hes locked out otherwise ?

Yes. Remember that in 2020 there is no "lock from department", we provide locks for keeping the minister from doing specific tasks. There are some tasks he will only perform if tasked to do them so do not need locks associated. This is one of the changes I really like in the minister system.
