need help with deploying missiles

#1 Post by Zimon » Jul 11 2008

hi,
i sitll have problems with deploying missiles. can someone explain how i can manually deploy missiles? and whats the difference between "missile capacity" and "maximum missile size" in the window of unit details? has it anything to do with the possibility to deploy the missiles? i played with china and in spite of having a scud launcher with missile capacity of 8 i wasn't able to deploy any missile on that damn thing. was it because my missiles had a missile capacity of 10 and above? i really don't get how this works... :-(

Every missle has a Missile Size, and can only be loaded to appropriate launch platforms having a "Max Missile Size" equal to or greater than that value. The "Missile Capacity" of a launch platform is the total number of "missile points" that unit can carry, which is the number of missles times the missile size. For example, a unit with a Missile Capacity of 72 could load 12x size 6 missiles, 18x size 4 missiles or 24x size 3 missiles. In each case the Max Missile Size of the loading unit would have to be at least 6, 4 or 3 respectively.

Now the confusing part: there is a known issue that the "Missile Capacity" and "Max Missile Size" values are reversed in many of the displays, so when you review your units realize that the larger number (usually 100 or more) in the Missile Capacity, while the smaller one (usually 10 or less) is the Max Missile Size. I expect this will be corrected with a patch soon.
