Research Efficiency does not increase

Post by Felius »

I'm playing as Brazil and I'm nearly 3 years into the game, but my research effiency refuses to go past 104%. I have 200% spending in it, heavy education expenditure, with the quality rating at 120.7%, and my literacy rate is at 100%. I have a few research centers, but keep most of them turned off, as I've bought every single acquirable tech from every other country in the world. I am now aware that I would have gotten some bonuses to the efficiency if I had researched most of them myself, but still, I would think that even without doing so I could increase my efficiency.

Am I unaware of some factor? Have I underestimated the effects of the completion bonuses? Is it a bug? Something else?

How many active research centers do you have?

I never have less than 2 active, if u only have one there is a bug that makes your efficiency stagnant. Try having always 2 active and max settings on all other aspects of research.

To be honest I have never seen much connection between education and research, however other programs like infrastuct, and social ass, seems to help.

Overall if you economy is good and u dump as much money as u can back in u get the best research results.

Hope I could help, sry if i didnt.

i have that same problem too i usualy keep 10-15 research centers max spending on research always literacy always betwen 90%-100% money to actualy pay for all this stuff , tech's that increase the research efficiency...but always my research efficiency is stuck to 100%-111% never above :(

It's based on reality I think. No country could research things two times faster. I researched all and the max I could get is only 126%

I've seen it as high as 140%. Also seems u guys don't build as many facilities as I do I go big and research everything I can at a given time. Early on ill have as many as 75. Depends on the country obviously as that many is really expensive.

cost of tech level research is editable? I find terribly high the cost of it? Is there a way to reduce it?

Completion bonus give only high price techs, it depends from money again...

research efficiency techs seem to be inactive.. has anyone proven the opposite?

No, these were tested and work.

perhaps my tests were wrong:

I started a new game and noted the starting efficiency ~ 97%
I edited a known tech to have 99% bonus to this parametre, I cached and found the efficiency unchanged, even after some game days. The most logic was to find 190% efficiency...

but "pollution levels" seems to be inactive. I fear that there are more inactive effects.

There is no pollution value in game. You are correct that effect isn't coded.

Do you know if there are any other inactive effects like pollution levels? I am testing all of them and any done work is valuable.

I'd have to go digging back in my notes, it's been too long for me to remember.

If we've used an effect on a tech, it is likely coded to work.
