something that a country should be able to have is an integrated air defense network with all of the radars and SAM sites all talking to each other and constantly in communication at all times, sort of like strategic air command and NORAD in the united states and the russian or chinese equivalent, so that way when there is an air attack all of your radars know right away and you can scramble fightersto intercept before their attack, just like the US would do in the event of an air attack or how if an ICBM were launched the shemya early warning radar in alaska would detect it and who sent it and we'd have a bunch of nuclear missiles in the air before it even hit. That is why an enemy cant just send ICBMs at our missile silos like you can do in the game because in real life if they launched at our missile silos then we'd launch them before the enemy could hit them and thats the same reason we could never take out the russian ICBMs, hence the stalemate in the latter half of the cold war and now, when neither of us could be assured of taking out the other side's nukes so neither of us attacked because then MAD (mutually assured destruction) would kick in and then the third world countries would inherit the world. In the game instead of building a regular radar site if you were a sufficiently advanced nation then you could build a 'NORAD radar' type of site that would detect enemy ICBMs and air attacks at a great range but would need to be defended well with AA and SAMS and many land units and they would have a huge maintenence price so poor countries wouldnt get them.
