Re: Replaced Designs
The short answer is that this is not likely to happen any time soon, first we need to get "replaced" as a system working.
Since this is two different requests I'll deal with them as such...
1)A replaced by B, show B
This is a problem since units can be replaced by an upgrade or by a better units, but our definition of "better unit" is more intended to unclutter lists than to reflect real replacement paths. An upgrade path would be something like an M1A1 to an M1A2. A replacement path might have a Leopard replaced by a Challenger replaced by the next Leopard so that if you have all three designs and are not familiar with them, filtering "replaced" is supposed to just show you the latest. Especially in the European tank types we weave in and out for those who like to pick up every design down to the Romanian TR-85. As mentioned, until we get it working it's not something we're going to put much time into expanding.
2)B replaces A, show A
The problem with this situation is that B can be the replacement for 1 unit or 100 units and B does not know who it replaces, A just does not show if B is in the list. Not sure this would be possible without massive coding.

Re: Replaced Designs
When you research the M1A2, the M1A1 becomes replaced. It's a setting in the game that helps eliminate lesser unit designs to reduce list clutter.
