I think they got the speed right also, but i dont see any harm in allowing those who want the game to run faster to do so.
Even at 20 seconds per day, i KNOW im going to be using pause often. So making the game have faster settings that i can pause or simply not use (play on a lower speed setting)doesnt really affect me as i see it.
And since it might make others more happy with the game, im all for it.
Perhaps players will still be able to go into the config and change the time passage settings like they could in sr2010 ?

As mentioned higher in the thread... there is a "fastest" speed. This is based on how fast your computer can run the game. If you play the game 5-10 years from now with better computers, the game will run even faster.
While people are on both sides of the fence on this topic, playing SR2020 will have more to do, trade wise, and sizing up many countries. So, playing faster will not give you the time needed, if you desire, to conduct trades and treaties, etc... with other regions. Gone are the days of our 5 player maps. 180-250 are the number of regions you are looking at playing with/against.
