Currently in sr2010, you cant order a unit to entrench in an area that is not under your control.
You must instead order the unit to move to that hex, and than issue the order for it to entrench in that hex after that hex is under your control.
Two separate orders.
What i was wondering, is if you could make it so the entrench order was available to units even if the target hex was not under your control .So that it was a combination of the move to and entrench order like it is when you control the target hex, even when you don't control the hex.
Also since the entrench order now prevents over stacking movement for units under the order, can we have a similar order for naval units that also makes them immune to the over stacking movement ?
Can we get a small change to the "entrench" orders

I wouldn't mind being able to overstack naval units. Logistically speaking, you could stack hundreds of ships in a 20 mile square of ocean. The thing to remember is that having dozens of Wessels (Nuclear Wessels! ) crammed in close quarters would tend to drop their overall defense stat. (think Pearl Harbor) Generic artillery would have a greater hit ratio, and evasive maneuvers would be limited compared to having plenty of elbow room between ships. True, the anti air/missile capabilities would be stacked, but I think some sort of defensive stature drop would still be in order.
Also, I agree about the entrench order change. "Take hill 301 and entrench there....await further orders." Doesn't seem beyond the pale for military orders.

Work-around
To entrench on a hex not under your control, move your units to the hex.
Right-click on the hex, then select "Advanced Orders".
The advance orders popup has the "Entrench" option on it.
Select it.
