How did you find out about Supreme Ruler?

Supreme Ruler is a pretty obscure game, less now as opposed to SR2010 but I still never ran into it or anything related to Supreme Ruler when browsing the internet casually. So I was wondering where did you guys find the game.

For me it was a demo for Sr2010 on some old Pc games magazine. One of those CD's that came with the magazine with random demos and stuff. So I tried it out and instantly became hooked. The demo was just basically a scenario that included Portugal,France, and Spain or Portugal,Madrid,Barcelona,Marseille and Paris and I think I played the scenario around 100 times. Some time later I pirated the game(Couldn't buy it where I lived,+1 for pirating in a good way) and later bought it and have been a loyal fan ever since... How about you?

for me i kind of sought it out...i am a long time geopolitical simulator fan...first 1 i played was shadow president back in the 80's and i have played many since....major names including the superpower/global power dualagy and well as civilizations and many others....

Back when it was released, I found it by way of Paradox Interactive. They have a history of supporting great games (Hearts of Iron and Victoria series for example) so I thought I would give it a go. I was hooked.

I had an issue with rome total wars Securom activation from direct 2 drive. After like 10 days of them trying to figure out why my game wouldn't stay activated they finally gave up and just gave me credit. So.. searching D2Ds game list for a game under the price of the store credit i came across sr2020. Guess securom did a good thing being a buggy POS in this one instance

I happened to see it in the local Best Buy, and bought it there. I didn't even know it was hex based until I played it that night XD
