Naval Invasions

I have GC installed yet I haven't seen more than one naval invasion (USA into Cuba). Of course, I normally set the game at the beginning to a No Unit config. Currently, there are wars spread all over the world, including many Island-to-Continent wars. However, not a single naval invasion (and scarce land warfare activity). Is it maybe the Military Difficulty affecting?

It probably was more of bad move starting with no units IF you wanted to see a bunch of amphibious landings...My current game is about 15 years in, and ive had over 8 launched just against my region.

most large landing ships take a year or more to build.

Add into that the need for each country to build a defensive force to stay at home, then time to build offensive forces to go forth. Keep in mind the AI does not think like you or I. It will keep 80% of its forces idle in cities. So it can take some time for any amphib assault to happen, outside of the major countries with large production capacities.

they will do them. If its an ally of youres gift them landing craft. Its rare they prefer undefended coast lines and then build up forces
