How can you train your units?
I briefly did a search on the forum for training and about a 100 hits came up ... none especially helpful.

Re: How can you train your units?
Not sure thats entirely correct, I understand you mean in the sense that 2010 could. In 2020, as you use them they gain experience, getting better theoretically. I am not sure it has an impact when they are in combat.

Re: How can you train your units?
In SR2020 you pay for Maintenance and Training on the DD Spending sub-panel. These expendatures boost all of your Unit's Efficiency. So you are correct that you cannot send them to camp for Mountain training, but the M+T expendatures work quite well.

And yes, I too would like to know the effect of Experience on Unit performance.

if your units have 100% experience then they fight 100% better.catatonic wrote:In SR2020 you pay for Maintenance and Training on the DD Spending sub-panel. It is already there in the AllSourceLoad.INI file. As for activating it in game, I have no clue.

This is obsolete.FuryDee wrote:It should be possible as there is a file called training.csv with several options listed:

Yes. If you want to do this, go back and play SR2010.UchihaMadara971 wrote:What do you mean that this is obsolete?

Re: How can you train your units?
Pity it's no longer used, as I always wondered about that file too. It is simper to have the training funds bar in the defense menu though.catatonic wrote:Yes. If you want to do this, go back and play SR2010.UchihaMadara971 wrote:What do you mean that this is obsolete?

Re: How can you train your units?
I don't see what everyone's problem is, training units is actually quite easy and straightforward. Find a nation whose technology your far exceed and whose army is a glorified police-force. Declare war and let your armed forces get some target practice! Works like a charm. In fact, the bigger your opponent's army, the more "training" you'll get....

Re: How can you train your units?
I do not have a problem, I don't really care about training units, as they are fodder. There is no reason to get attached to any unit in the game since you continually strive for better quality/higher tech units. No matter how much combat a m113 has seen it will never be as good as a m118, so its a moot point.

Re: How can you train your units?
Thats true, but there are some units that keep their usefulness that come early in the game.
Mig 25,zumwalt,lpd-17,ws-2,etc...
And experience can have a huge effect on their performance.

Re: How can you train your units?
I was just making a joke.... and apparently not a very good one, since going to war isn't technically 'training' your army for war.GIJoe597 wrote:I do not have a problem, I don't really care about training units, as they are fodder.
