The first step we'll be incorporating towards eventually getting the AI to build new upgrades is that the AI will upgrade existing facilities. This won't be an Update 3 change, but is definitely on the list to be addressed very soon!

I didnt realize the AI never even upgraded... so that means the player shouldn't either. :(

It means the player SHOULD and thus has an advantage over the AI.

you should do so. Because although it employs more people etc the cost of having one hex of farms of 100% and two hexes with farms at 50% (meaning both examples producing the same amount) your 1 farm costs less! more worth it!

The player should not have advantages over the AI... takes the fun out of it, for me at least.

OK, alas as a human player you will always have an advatage over the AI, because your brain still surpasses what an AI can do.

When time comes and this difference disappears is the time you should really really worry about all apsects of your real life...

And i mean this last sentence in the way, mankind will probably be wiped out. Which you can see in many movies and also in that old TV series battlestar galactica. :D

Every opponent has advantages over some other opponent.

The AI can locate and issue orders far faster than i can.The AI can keep track of units much better than i can.The AI has a much faster reaction speed than i do.

I on the other hand, once i learn the game, will generally be a better player than the AI becuase my thinking is not limited by programming.

Should i stop thinking outside the game AIs programming simply becuase it cant ?

The AI in this game is very restricted....
It can't build/upgrade, for example, new plants. It has no knowledge
about the opponents strength or weaknesses ..etc etc..

Hey guy's ... do me a favour and continu this discussion in the AI section
please...

Cheers

I was talking in terms of functionality (building stuff, nukes etc), a player should not be able to do functional things the computer opponent cannot.

(Maybe this thread can be moved to the AI section?)

It is not that the AI hasnt got the option! But it isnt coded in to use that option.

WMD are a no go for the AI players. So why build them.

But I think it takes an awfull lot of programming to get an AI to upgrade and even build stuff. That takes such a lot of insight, future planning and what not more.

Remember your brain is still much much better then the best computer around. And be glad it is so!

If the AI isn't coded to use the option, it doesnt have it. Exactly, WMD's are a no go for AI players, so I don't persue them either (which makes them not part of the game).

Maybe it is just me, but I feel it is unfair for me to be able to upgrade and build new things while my opponents are unable to. I realize as a human I have other advantages, but they are not as functional. The fact the AI cannot change its situation makes the game seem very static.
