Construction Cost of Building/Upgrading when using Engineers

Post by Gripen »

I know using Engineers on Construction duty reduces building/upgrading times.
However, does that effect the daily/net Construction cost or Industrial goods consumption for the building/upgrading?

FOR EXAMPLE:
If I'm not building/upgrading anything, the Construction Cost on the Detailed Expense Summary shows Construction Cost of 0.00m

Let's say I choose to build/upgrade 1 facility, Construction cost (correctly)jumps up.

When Building/Upgrading is complete, the Construction costs go back to 0.00

HOWEVER:
Lets say I have 7 Engineers help Construct the Building/Upgrading. This reduces the Building/Upgrading time in half (every day of Game Time reduces Time-to-complete-Building/Upgrading by 2 days)

This means I'll get done in half the time, at which point, the Construction cost will drop 0, BUT I don't believe the Construction cost doubled in the meantime.

Since the daily construction costs seem to be staying the same, are more industrial goods being consumed?
Am I missing something obvious here?

Also- Does the Strength of the Engineer unit affect Building/Upgrading times? If not, maybe it's best to produce only Mini-engineer units to scurry around to help construct things. (Just keep them out of combat zones).

Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

George had assured me that the consumption of goods and the cost are accelerated the same so that it does not affect the price but I will as him again...

Construction Cost of Building/Upgrading when using Engineers

Thanks for the prompt reply, on a holiday no less!

How about Engineer strength having an effect? I would think higher strength = more squads = faster construction.

Don't you BGoats take off for the holidays?! Go Home! Drink Eggnog!

tnx agin,

I believe that was already suggested and is on our list to implement.

As for taking holidays, I'm working from home today and only a few hours, we do find some time to rest. But with the internet, it's not hard to take 5mins even during the holidays ;)

Heck, I was posting Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Dbl checked with Goerge, both strength of the unit and unit efficiency affect the construction benefit.

You guys really covered all the bases. Looks like there's no such thing as a free lunch with engineers!
