When i look at my financial books, where is the bottom line?

I keep trying to study the effects of my economic policies but it is difficult because i have no bench mark. Where can i determine if i am making profit or loss? I want a dollar figure + or - 0.0. I just cant make sense of the figures i am given for the life of me. When i look at my treasurey, I keep wanting to see income minus expenses equals X.

Am i old school here? Help.

Why dont the figures make sense to me? Is it imports vs exports? Is it estimated vs actual?

this is one of my pet peevs with the game. I make changes, but unless I memorize 100 different values or try to log it into a spreadsheet (yea right!) there is no real way of seeing the effects of what you do.

For such a complex eco sim, it give less historic feedback that AOE or Civ3 or Superpower2.

Don't get me wrong, the program does seem to work well if you have a in depth understanding of macroeconomics, but you can't use this program to learn about what the different settings do without a lot of sweat.

I just wish there was historical graphing so when I change ministers, I know what they are doing!

In your Treasury Department, panel one, the bottom line would be Income "minus" Expenses then "plus/minus" your Trade Balance and that number is applied to your treasury.

So if income was $100, expenses $80, and you had a trade SURPLUS of $25 you would see your treasury go from $1,000 to $1,045.

Does this help?

Completely agree. Historical graphing would be such a sweet blessing to understanding the effects of my decisions. I am still working in the dark alot and i dont particularly like the feeling for long........
