Is it possible to turn off the combat noises, while keeping the other noises? What files do I have to screw with?

"Fire" and "Death" sounds are specified in the equipment file. I believe if you zero the columns there will be no combat sounds...

it is a file that must be imported in the mapeditor. Details can be found in the modding section of www.supremeruler.com

ould it be possible to replace the Fire and death sound files by versions that produce less sound? That would be much more effective and even allow it to be replaced by better sounds effects

It is possible, you could check the sounds folder to find the files. The fire sounds are assigned in the equipment file. Not sure what programs are out there for editing sound files but it is possible.
