Debt Japan

In this thread you can discuss any thoughts you have about balance within the game. Does a particular unit need a specification changed? Is a stealth plane not stealthy enough? Do "Belli Bar" levels need to be changed? Let us know and discuss it all here.

Thought we fixed the Russian debt twice already!?! :-?

...I'll fix it again, it's entered wrong in the Configuration file.

As for Japan, this comes down to a bit of a design issue. If you check CIA factbook, Japan has a GDP of 3.745 Trillion. They also have a public debt of "164.3% of GDP (2004 est.)" so almost 6 trillion. We divided that amongst the four regions. However, no amount is given for "external debt". We've reviewed some of what they mean by each of those values and have been starting to use just external debt as total debt. For many of the regions (particularly Europe) we added public+external=debt. I'm not too concerned, Japan has such a strong economy that you can easily manage their debt.

 yep u can pay off the debt. I managed to do it in 5 years. Course there's alot of ppl in Japan hating me still with all the high taxes and no social spending. But actually its possible to do it in 5 years without extreme spending cuts or 100% taxes. Just haven't tested it yet. :D
