DDX/DD-21 Zumwalt destroyer

I've noticed that we've given this unit the maximum optimal attack range which probably gives it more credit than it deserves for its tech level. As I am doing some research into additional future ships, a design decision has been made to take the base value of this ship from 185km range to 85 km range. We will also mark it as indirect and ballistic so that if you get the four artillery range extending technologies, it will be back up to about 180km but the cost of the ammunition will be higher. It will also damage all units in the stack, not just one since it is indirect, so the damage values will be reduced.
Just wanted to post it here as well incase anyone playing notices a change in how the Zumwalt works. We will also be adding new ships based on the same weapons technologies and these will be done the same way.

:cry: changes to the Zum? That's my favorite ship. I just hope it still be a good navy killer.

Sounds like your making it more powerful to me .

All depends on how much the damage is reduced,but making it indirect fire is a big plus to its power.

I think I set the attack value to about 50% of what it was. Remeber however that now it is matched against the indirect defense of the opposing unit, no longer its hard/soft ground defense value. We'll still need to more testing of this unit's balance, however these where necessary changes. Means that to achieve the same ranges requires 4 extra technologies.

Indeed but u'll be burning through ammunition so fast that ur ship will be empty after one salvo lol :D

Not that I care because these monsters were simply overpowered anyway lol

It will still be formibable naval vessel, but it was too strong before.

Zumwalt is region code U only but we've added a few other units with similar specs. Don't remember which ones and don't have th file with me.

:lol: I like it the way it is or was. But if the one i use isn't the real one then I just get use to the new one. Hope I can still take on an entire fleet with just a dozen zums.

I don't get the question...

After update #3, the DDX which is already available will be there but with different stats than before.
