Everyone sees your bases, and from them they assume what your build cap is.

Unlike the real world, where you can hide a troop buildup, you really cant in the game.

And based on the knowledge avialable to the AI about your bases, i agree with and support the "hate this guy" attitude of the AI due to build cap.

I do however think its needs to be adjusted and have some other factors added in that have their own measurable weight in the mechanics of the "time to hate this guy" AI mechanics though.

And yes, some emails from the AI asking "Hey man ! Just why ARE you building those 500 tanks units !? "

AND saying
"
Ya know, we dont have the highest of trust between us, so i am afraid im going to have to consider that those tanks your building just might be meant to be used against me , AND so im just going to have to dislike you even more :P .Unless of course you can give me some diplomatic reassurance that that isnt the case."

Kind of things.

Yeah. I also need additional diplomatic options. I suffered massive losses in Iran just because I didn't get the Jews to curb-stomp Iraq and Egypt!

They have declared war to Iraq and Egypt yet didn't even move an inch!

Plus Saudis went postal too, now I am an enemy of all Semites except Israel and Jordan. The Artillery losses I suffered are also despicable. I've got to handle the artillery better. And the desert is ******* huge, I can't supply the men in that area!

The Goats have expressed the goal of making those very changes. and yes, you are correct that "buildcap hatred" is over simplified and can be "gay" in many cases.

Under the Goats system, Poland would have attacked Hitler (and/or Stalin) in 1938.

they really didn't have any planes
they still had cavalry!!

plus hitler would still have wiped them out, it would just take a shorter time of killing him :-) :P

In 1939, everyone had cavalry including Germany, the Soviet Union, France, England and the U.S.

Poland might not have won if they attacked Germany in 1939, but in 1936 it would have been interesting. And, despite the press reports and "official" German history of the campaign, the Poles fought very hard indeed. The Germans lost roughly as many men in 30 days as the U.S. lost in Vietnam over 11 years.

Five minutes of looking on the web. The Germans had more cavalry divisions in 1945 than they did in 1939. You should read more.

We all start off somewhere. Don't feel bad. Every once in a while I still get surprised. For example, on these forums, I found out that I didn't know the capital of Brazil, nor how it was a pre-planned city -- somehow, I totally missed this.
