I played as Tennessee in this scenario and my objective, based on the initial intel, was to isolate Alabama while focusing my initial attack on Georgia. Once Georgia was under control I would then turn on Alabama on a long two front war that I was certain it would not be able to maintain.

It took a long time but I managed to build eight primary maneuver elements consisting of : 2-3x M1A1's, 1-2x IFV's, 1-2x Artillery and 1x Air defense system. I also built two air superiority squadron's of three aircraft each of which one consisted of F-15's and the other having F-16's. I also had one CAS squadron consisting of three A-10 aircraft. I had also built one AWAC whose orders were to patrol the length of the two boundaries. Missile contruction was limited to aircraft and MLRS type munitions. Additional units built were 9x CH-47's, MIM-104 long range air defense units, and additional air defense units for close range actions.

As the ground elements were built I positioned them along my borders with five against Georgia and three against Alabama - one of which was at the tri-state boundary acting as a reserve for the Georgia campaign. I deployed all air squadrons at the airbase along the Georgia border.

The buildup slowly increased Georgia's hostility towards me and as my last ground element was being built Georgia declared war against me. Its decision to do this wasn't in line with its military deployments as it still maintained a large portion of its military forces in its capitol and further south. I would also find that Georgia had invested alot into submarines and SLCM's - luckily my investment in air defense would minimize this threat.

Comfortable that Alabama was contained with the two primary and one alternate ground element, I ordered my F-15 squadron to conduct air superiority patrols five hexes into Georgia's airspace and parallel to the original border. This coincided with my initial push into the ground war as I sent three ground elements (7x unit stacks) along parallel axis of advance with the A-10 squadron providing CAS. While this initial push was being secured six hexes deep into Georgia's territory, I was pushing the remaining two ground elements across the north-eastern portion of Georgia to secure the industries there and broaden the war front. While these two elements were moving into position I relocated my long range AD units two hexes behind the main front and behind the two elements moving eastward to increase my air defense umbrella across the state. I utilized my CH-47's, with F-16 escorts, to air assault infantry in order to capture the bridge and several industry in eastern Georgia ahead of the ground push.

During the above actions, the fighting being done by my initial three elements was fierce to say the least. My A-10's and artillery were crucial in limiting my casualties while inflicting heavy losses on Georgia's forces as they moved towards the front lines, albeit piecemeal. The combined arms force of each of my elements complimented one another and their deployment facilitated the enemy being hit from two or more sides at any given time.

My Air defense design for this scenario worked far better than I had expected and the outcome decimated Georgia's air forces. The depth of my air defense coverage consisted of having 1x Linebacker in each ground element, behind that I had positioned 1x MIM-104 Patriot between each element for a total of three - plus an additional 2x MIM-104's between and slightly behind those three. Add to that my F-15 and F-16 squadron's I was quickly dispatching all enemy aircraft that attempted to move north.

During this push south I was still concerned with Alabama and its potential to interfere and disrupt my momentum into Georgia. Keep in mind that I had five manuever elements abreast moving south against Georgia's forces. This constant pressure and multi-fauceted attack was making light work of Georgia and as this development became more prevalent I decided that once the capitol was taken that I would be able to divert at least two elements to prepare for any action that Alabama may take. While Alabama did not declare war until Georgia was all but lost it was my "emergency fund" as I had changed the amount of combat force against Alabama from three to five manuever elements. The major problem was that I would not have sufficient air forces to support any attack into Alabama until much later.

To make a long story short, Georgia was eventually conquered and during the last days of that fight Alabama declared war against me giving me an open opportunity to remove them as well. By that time I had positioned my air forces and seven of my eight manuever elements against Alabama.

Us 3 in a MP game. just to see which state is better. As for my AAR if i add more to it, it be Arkansas, Carolinas, Kentucky, and Florida. So i might make more mad with it but I hope i'm not making anyone mad with it. :D

You are more than welcome to give a try. My decision for playing Tennessee was just a start point for me as Alabama is where I was raised. haha

Berg,

I am still newbie at this game so I would hate wasting your time with my simple minded play. :) But it may happen as I would enjoy experimenting with a MP game.

I just read your AAR for Alabama and it appears that you are a man of the pen Mr. Berg! haha

 i guess so. And please don't call me mister i'm not that old  Well keep us informed on how it goes aganist Alabama. Just to let u know during the civil war between the 3 states Alabama is the only one that the Union could not take. Tennesse fell first the Georgia. The union try to take Alabama but got their tails handed to them. Kinda makes u wonder y the confeds moved the capital to Virginia instead of leaving it in Alabama. Mainly because of Robert E. Lee i know. Another thing about Alabama is it was the number one state that provided troops to the confed. Alabama will always be the Heart of Dixie.

edit: tried this scenario again after i got in. i did too well. lost 199 men aganist Ten but killed over 20K. I think i mastered this scenario. So we can play a Mp on it when ever u're ready. :D oh i know what every region starts with too.
