Offering sea units?

Post by Justifier »

Does the world market offer sea units if you have a sea port online? WM offers air units a lot.And they usually give the units free. What about sea units?

thanks

I have had them offer transport units and patrol craft, maybe even some DDs, but never anything very strong. Also, I forgot one thing in your Constanta problem, you can sell those units and they will still be trapped, but without supply they will be useless to whoever buys them, and you can destroy them at leisure later.

ok then the WM offer sea units which is good for me.Building ship takes a lot of time as it should be.I can use everything right now. That port problem will cost me a lot of time.

I should ask other questions here. When I sell a unit using the unit screen do I sell them to WM (or any other invisible person/organisation) or to a region which is in the game. I guess there is some selling option in the diplomacy screen too.(the screen when we make deals with another country I mean)

And another thing is how can we make WM offer more units/ make more deals? There is a minister order to encourage WM offerings.Anything else?
Are WM ratings effective on that?

I have never been 100% clear on the AI's exact motivations for offering units. A good rating with the WM is helpful, but it also has something to do with how poor and weak you are. My personal play style involves very little room for random units, so unless I am just starting out with a very weak region, I usually refuse actual physical units. I do often accept unit designs, they make good trade bait for getting unit designs I actually want. 99% of the time, the WM is not giving you a gift, it is dumping it's garbage on your region. :P

Yeah I agree with el_slapper.When I rule a small region which I usually do, all my neighbours are accepting whatever WM offers. So they have lots and lots of units under their command. And considering that I do not have enough BC, I welcome the WM offerings. Besides, sometimes offerings are very effective. My little neighbour Macedonia has lots of T-90, T-80 and BMP-3 now and became a pain in the ass!

I agree completely. My point about using my own units was in reference to after I had taken my weak region, and turned it into a strong(er) one. Bear in mind that paying the (usually) overinflated WM prices for units can be almost as harmful as just waiting for your bases to produce something better and cheaper. It all depends on how hard you are being pressed militarily.
