I started a South Asia scenario last night. Maybe I need to reread the back story again. Why does Japan have worse diplomatic relations with Korea than China?
Mind you it doesn't really matter much, I'm just curious. I'm actually following the intelligence report advice, and using an alliance as a beach head onto the mainland. I decided to come at the Chi-Coms from the south instead. The Vietnamese were more than happy to receive my diplomatic gifts and attention, and allying with them was much easier and cheaper than Korea would have been.
( *evil laughter* The Chinese were also kind enough to sell me the design for the WS-1b, most of south Korea is within range...)

I don't remember the exact balance we set but I seem to recall that much of the diplomatic strain between Korea and Japan goes to Japan's actions during WWII. IIRC this continues to come up today, I think just recently the Japanese gov flip-flopped again on whether or not they would admit what was done in the 1930s...

ahhh... Thank you. I suspected it was the historical aspect. It has been awhile since I read the 2010 storyline though, and I wasn't sure if perhaps Japan had tried some hanky panky within that.
