I am encountering the phantom treasury expense bug again.

Post by tkobo »

Soooo, ive decided to try and tear into it here.

Im going to post what i discover that seems odd and ask alot of questions.

Two things ive noticed as odd so far are:

1)There doesnt seem to be a place where construction costs for satellites are figured into the expenses. Are they ?
Also there is no maintance cost mentioned for sats, is this correct ?

2)It seems like the unit build costs are not adding up correctly.Id almost swear at this point that i am getting a day of free contruction on units. So that if a unit takes 199 days to complete, and the total cost of the unit is spread out over those days on a day per day basis, that im only getting charged for 198 days.
Im tired and the numbers are getting the better of me, so im not convinced or solid on this yet, but it sure looks like it.

3) the little button (switch actual/budget views) on the detailed expense/budget summary window (3rd window of treasury) doesnt seem to work .

Explained on the Wiki;
Expenses shown in red on the Detailed Expense Summary are limited by a lack of funds. When funds are available spending in this areas will increase to the budgeted amounts. To see these values, view the Detailed Budget Summary Switch Actual/Budget Views

Cool.

More info on number 2.

I am currently building 51 neurons spread over 17 air bases.I am also currently building 102 nuclear missiles.

First the neuron costs:Total cost should be circa 1,593million spread over 199 days.

Now IF that cost is truly spread over the days evenly i should be paying circa 8million/day for each neuron.

This 8 million would than of course would have to multiplied by 51 to reach the total per day i should be spending for them.

This comes out to circa 408million

Okay now the nukes.

Now the nuke costs:Total cost should be circa 50millionspread over 176 days.

Now IF that cost is truly spread over the days evenly i should be paying circa 284k/dayfor each nuke.

This 284k would than of course would have to multiplied by 102 to reach the total per day i should be spending for them.

This comes out to circa 28million .

So the totals are 28 million for the nukes and 408million for the neurons.

These added together come out to 436 million/day.

Now my econmic minister tells me my units building expense is only circa 429 million /day

A difference of circa 7 million in my favor.Or a savings of circa 2 percent.

I checked his background and tortured him severely, he did not work for enron and still claims he is giving me the true figures.

Now some info on the issue itself.
Playing as italy, im am purposely running a budget deficit of circa 5.793 billion

Yet when the day ends, i seem to be being charged circa 6.8 billion in expenses

So an un explained loss over just over 1 billion is occurring.this is what im trying to find the cause of.

Now number 1, seems to be a likely culprit for at least some of this as the expense for building the sats doenst seem to be included in the ledgers.

Something my advisor to his ultimate despair could not explain to me.Ah well,we have already put aside a nice new position as a "land mine tester" for him during his "retirement"

Have you checked the bank accounts of your other ministers? :P

Purge ? What purge ? We will simply re-assign them to jobs they are better suited for.
Not only are we alwasy in need of more land mine testers, but we also always seem short on bullet catchers.(someones got to catch all those stray bullets :P )
