mercs ? questions on how they might be done even if not dire

Okay we can "loan" units to other regions right ?

Do we have to be at war with a region(a) for the troops we loan to another region(b) to be used agaisnt the first region(a)by the second (b) ?

If not,then as long as we can offer financial incentive by way of diplomactic offers to other regions to get them to "loan" our region units then we can in fact "fake" merc units to some degree.

The question on merc units was brought up in another thread,think the one on pop% in military,but for some reason I can't seem to find that thread.Must be more tired than I think,or blind.

In essence you are right. Anyone can use their forces as a mercenary army, selling their services to the highest bidder. This would also be a good way to have some of your units gain experience. Just hope you don't need them at home while their off protecting someone else's territory.

And of course while they're off fighting in someone else's war, you might want to wonder if they will come home at all! Their temporary employer might be a little too willing to send them on one-way missions!

Any idea how willing the AI will be to "renting" its units to friendly regions yet ?

No... Probably not that likely. You might just have a Mutual Defense Treaty signed and they will deploy to your territory but they still control the units.

How about thru the W.M. ?
Can you request a U.N. style "peace keeping force" be deployed ?

If not,would it be out of the question to add a small amount of "rental" forces to the W.M. purchase list ?

Requesting "Peace Keeping" forces from the World Market will definitely be an option! Better make sure you don't accidentally shell them!
