What is the easiest way to control groups of your military?

I recently invaded and took out my first territory. One of the huge problems I was running into was controling my groups of military units. Is there some easy way to do this? Typical RTS games have the CTRL-# to save the group and make it easier to recall it and move it around. I haven't been able to find anything like this for SC 2010. What is the easiest way to control different groups and have it saved to make handling large military forces easier?

There is a CTRL-# rubberbanding exactly the same...

Yes you can control # group units. Also when you have units selected the bottom panel opens and there are other filter options - allowing you to modifiy your selection... - choose just one unit type... or class, or remove certain units.. look there and it may assist you.

or you could just assign a priority to your ops minister :P
