This might help explain what im asking.
Lets say the enemy has a tank unit of yours cut off,but they dont have the power ready to wipe it out yet.It however will not be long before they do.
Can we send in helicopters and rescue the men from this unit but leave the tanks behind (becuase the helo's can't carry the tanks) ?
not sure how to word this. Can we seperate the men from a uni

This may just be a little too "micro" for putting in to the game.
It could be useful, as we track army soldier counts and a region may run out of "manpower" to build new units, so for them saving the men would be important; However I'm not really sure that this feature would be worth the complexity of trying to implement and use it.
We will, however, allow supply helicopters carry in fuel etc, so you could attempt to resupply your units to get out of trouble. But I don't think we'll allow detaching men from equipment like this.
Even scrapping a unit to regain the soldiers (to use in building another unit) will require returning to base.
At least, that's the current plan (as I understand it).
