99% of the SR2010 techs will be in new game plus some new ones. Don't worry about any techs they don't actually have now in real life so tech level doesn't matter too much. If they have advanced recycling they get the tech be it at 90 or 110. If they have it they get it. The extra stuff we'll figure out.

by the way, why did they are now separeted? as a benelux citizen (an convinced european), i would very like to hear the reason that motivated it

Well, despite the very close relationship between the three countries, they are still their own sovereign nations. Luxemburg is too small to model so goes to Belgium (Austria gets Lichtenstein for the same reason) but with the new system George suggested we make them separate countries.

given that the background of SR2020 is the same than 2010, i wonder if actual real life political situation can be seen as "hardcoded"?

both countries know that they are too small to survive alone to any conflict in western europe (probably that the history is not lost for everyone )so unify rather than breaking their links.

We have common military schools, are operating together...

in my humble opinion, separating them in SR2020 will only delay their unification and make them weak in the first year (not talking about efficiency loss after unification...).

PS: is it another thread where Benelux have been discuted more indepth in prevision of SR2020?

No, we haven't discussed any one region for SR2020 yet.
