World Market FAQ

Post by Balthagor »

Q: Will the WM be something like the U.N.
A: The World Market is designed to have absorbed remnants of many international organizations including the United Nations. It is intended to oversee international agreements and look out for global concerns. It’s agenda is to see one ruler rise as supreme above all others to unit the world.

Q: Where is their headquarters.
A: Unknown. Much of their public front is stationed in Switzerland but no one knows the precise location of all it’s facilities

Q: Will they be easily bought and sold like the U.N. (corrupt).
A: Technically they can’t be bought, however, they have their own agenda and will act to achieve it. If you can convince them that letting you do something is in their best interest, they will not stand in your way. However, if they disapprove of your methods, lookout…

Q: Can you ask them for aid in combat or diplomatic situations?
A: There are many forms of aid, both economic and military that can always be requested. Some requests are exclusive to member regions.

Q: How powerful are they really, can they be fought at some point and can they be beaten to make yourself true supreme ruler of the world.
A: While playing through the campaign, the World Market uses its members as its strength. If you are in the Michigan map, anything outside of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana is “World Market Territory” not because they own it but because it is a member’s territory and is outside of the “current conflict area”. If you attack Illinois, you face the entire World Market and they will bring in forces to push you out of WM territory. Once they have pushed you back they will demand to reform the borders and go back to peace. They may expect reparations.

Q: Do they have bases and if so can those bases be attacked? If they have such a large military they must keep their equipment somewhere.
A: As might be expected from the previous answer, bases in Illinois would be “World Market Bases” but the map edge cuts down the middle of the state so even if you took those bases, more forces would just come from off map. Remember that in every map except the world you are seeing only portions of the world and on the world map there is no World Market since all areas of the world are player regions.
