One of the major weakness of SR series is, IMHO, lack of interactivity with events and their general obscurity, which is a problem namely for events that depend on player activity (fulfilling conditions instead of just set time to fire)..

It would be great to display possible events and their conditions and effects in some sort of a list UI - player would have greater guidance and some explicit goals to strive for. Timed historical events might or might not be shown here (maybe game settings?) but in any case just this would be great QoL feature (it is much better than looking into event list in common/x.csv). Events could also get a field for description but just displaying the type of event as a string would be enough. Option to filter by type and if it's concerning your country or not would be great too as well as ordering by time.

On top of that, I'd ask for new flag that would allow the event to be optional - manually started by the country if it so wishes (AI could do it randomly or follow default choice). This would allow for new type of content and increased player agenda - for example, South Korea could have a "decision" to offer unification to North if their DAR is higher than X while KLDR's DAR and MAR are less than Y and Z. North Korea could then accept or reject and if they did, the countries would peacefuĺly merge. Similar mechanic (for inspiration) is Hearts of Iron IV Decisions.
