Unit license for production

Post by Yusufe »

Some countries starting the game basicly in stone age, they are so far behind technology wise, they can’t catch up no matter how much research center they spam, starting from the stone age to build upto date isn’t so much fun, countries should be able to buy unit licenses maybe for a period of time or for certain amount of units to produce on their own without the technology requirements.

For example Turkiye can’t produce Altay tanks until it’s obsolete but in real life other than political reasons Turkiye is able to produce Altay and there are more and more examples like by the 2030 TAI TF-X will be ready but in game Turkiye still needs to figure out how zeppelins works then go thru all wright bros bi-plane to modern day jets

Our intention with the development of SR2030 is to improve some of the technology balance to be more realistic, but some of what you're describing is a reality. If the US suddenly agreed to offer a license to build the F-35, a country like Mali or Paraguay could not actually benefit from this, they just can't build things like that. This suggestion would need more details and need to be a more complex system or it would start to blur the real differences that exist between countries.

Note that the new Strategic Unit Trading already solves some of the issues presented here.

It could be an alternative way for both parties to benefit Mali would pay in bulk to lease a license for either a period of time or for certain amount of units, US would have money instantly and depending on which way you choose to go Mali either could produce a couple extra units before the lease time runs out or Mali could produce releatively cheaper since it will be domestic. In the end US doesn’t have to spend time to build units and sell it’s upto date arsenal for money and Mali would have some upto date units.

All Turkiye’s F16’s produced by Tusaş domestically under the licence without knowing how. They agree the terms, Turkiye pay for the planes and produce.
