Its your gateway to practically unlimited funds.

Next make allies.Pick some you just know are gonna be declared war on by other regions.In the Qatar case make Israel an ally.

Than build up a small 2 or 3 full stack hard hitting army, while you sit back and wait for the chance to use it.

The chance will come when someone decalres war on your ally,return the favor declaring war on that region.Make sure you have a land route to get your units to your ally also.
And make sure you have made an ally that secures your own border,in Qatar's case Saudi Arabia.

Than once the war starts send your units in , and use them to take control of resource hexs of your enemy.Let the mian fighting be bewteen your ally and the foe, BUT swoop in with your units when a resource hex is close to current frontline.When the frontline becomes static, use my patented "Lend Lease Program" described here

The AI enemy will deplete much of its army fighting your AI ally, and you will reap most of the rewards snapping up those tasty resource hexs.
When the AI enemy is spent,army mostly killed off, finish it off and take as much land as you can.

Repeat as needed.
In the mideast map as Qatar allied with Isreal you will get to do this with Turkey,Syria and Jordon almost immediately.
All their tasty resource hex can be yours, including wood,water,iron ,coal and oil hexes . Yummy.

At home, at the very start of the game, raise your domestic mark-ups to reduce shortage, increase cash profit from the few resources you have, and sell off all units of no current use.

Trade will your ally (israel) and get some of the better equipment on the map to use for your 2 or 3 stack expeditionary force.

Tkobo, with your trade tip I know its almost unecessary, but do you activly trade for techs at the start and I mean all techs.

Because units have a dev cost value despite possibley obsolete tech level, they can be used to bulk up value in cross region trades. Buy starting with the lowest tech nations andsimply buying everything then moving up the nations by tech level, I managed to get every advance and every unit for all countries except the usa for less than $5,000mil in total. I also had several key Us units and a few advances.

I was left with over $100,0000mil of units ready to trade for additional US units/techs, but was waiting for a few of the techs to drop out of lower tech nations like Germany and Japan first.

To be honest I could have got farther for less had I been cuter, and the only cash spent was at the very start to pick up 1 or 2 critical tecs for future bargining.

I actively trade for techs and unit designs all thru the game.

Its a major part of one trick to get broke regions to make even more insane deficit purchases of your goods.

Lets say china has a treasury deficit of 7 trillion (that they aquired buying your goods ), as long as they stay at the huge deficit you can forget about them (for the most part) making any more huge deficit causing purchases of your goods.

BUT if you buy up their resources, useful techs, designs, etc.. you can move them towards if not into a positive treasury balance.

Once there, quess what they do ? Thats right . They make yet another even bigger deficit creating purchase.In one recent case, china who after it had gone positive from a 7tril deficit, made an 11 tril deficit purchase from me .
So i got resources i wanted,techs i wanted,designs i wanted and ended up 4 tril more rich With a potential foe 4 trillion more poor to boot China has a very nice nuke by the way, 15k range

Sometimes i even make no cost gifts of trillions of dollars, becuase that region will just turn around and make an even larger purchase that recoups the gift and further increases my treasury

And yes, thats a very good tip about acquiring and trading obsolete techs .Id reccomend that to everyone also.

You failed to tell your students that following your advice invokes all sorts of bad Karma upon them.

Come'on, you're playing with the fringes of the game; taking advantage of obvious errors that weren't picked up during testing or beta testing.

OK, OK your're allowed to do it. The game allows it. But don't you feel the least bit corrupted by doing so? What's the point in playing the game if you are exploiting errors?

This reminds me of the original Harpoon game. In that game, they forgot to put limits on reverse speed for submarines -- you could have an Akula doing 5000 Kts in reverse. A player on a ladder I played on was stunned when I refused to play against him when he took advantage of this game flaw.

So, kudo's to you for finding this error. I hope they fix it in 2020. However, beware, the gods of wargamming are looking for revenge upon you for teaching noobs to exploit holes in the code.

I also dont believe in karma, im atheist
AND even if a i did, id like to think i'd give who or whatever awards the karma enough sense to realize that pushing the rules to the limit,is one of the best ways to find and explore the faults in them in order to make the rules better.And hence he or it would reward those who do

And yes, to those who explore the game along the less traveled more diverse paths ,meet Feltan.
He's an old guy, like me, in age at least.And very set in his doctrines.He'll be by alot to point you "towards the light".
So when he comes by pat him on the head, nod alot and remind him to eat his mush.Its good for him, just chock full of the vitamins an old guy needs .

Hey, I play the game FOR FUN too!

I just find following the spirit, as well as the letter, of the "rules" important to having fun. To me, tricking the AI into making "even more insane deficit purchases" is as fun as pushing old ladies into traffic. Too easy -- especially for me because I'm "so old" I can sneak up on old ladies without them getting worried.

tkobo have u tried to play mongolia? I have started once only too give up on the 3d day (I saw it's economy and i didn't think of any ways to improve it).

zhshs7, i dont know, Ive played more than i can remember .
But if you want to give it another try,im sure the NON-approved by Feltan market methods ive put forth will make it much easier to play.

Im in the middle of a VERY fun game as Italy, that i am about to start what i think is a VERY funny AAR about.
But maybe after that ill give it alook and see if its familair and play it thru some.

Feltan - be careful which old ladies you push into traffic, some of them make great mush.And the world needs great mush makers.
Of course they dont always follow the set doctrines for making mush, and possibly not even the spirit intended by the early mush makers, but great mush is great mush .

i cheat but i hat people who cheat (not break the systym they still have to work but openly cheat) then say how good they are at a game


yes i cheat in some games who cares
