I have had the game for about a week, and I am slowly peeling back the layes of the onion and getting a good understanding of how things work.

I am stumped on one problem: Playing a campaign game as Michigan, on second level......for some odd reason my Coal production just plumetted to almost nothing. The scenario started out with robust production, and is now at a fraction. I am supposed to be producing at 100% of capacity, but I am no where near that. Any idea what causes production to collapse? I am not at war, have quite a few coal mines, everything seems peachy -- just no production.

TIA

Regards,
Feltan

Since you mentioned 100% of capacity I'm assuming you know that you can turn production from capacity to "demand". If you accidently clicked on the word capacity and it switched to demand, that could conceivably cause most production to cease. If you have double checked, and it is still on capacity, then you have me stumped. Mayhaps your minister switched this? (they do goofy crap like that.:P You can lock them out of the decision making process for this.)

Hmm, my first thought was a power shortage, but i think that would be incorrect.

Are you sure your production has dropped, and it isnt a case of your demand soaring instead ?

Hmm, one other thought occured to me as i was typing, a supply sortage in the area of your mines will cause this .Hows the infrastructure and supply ?

I guess you locked the coal from the -commerce- tab ?
You better go to the production info:
Press < P > and then go to the production - Domestic Quotas.
Here you can switch from demand to capacity and set the production slider to 100 % and lock it.

Whats the condition of your mines ?If the are at full strength they have a little blue dot.

Thanks for the suggestions.

For some reason...maybe a glitch....once I changed to 100% of demand and ran for a few days, and then back to 100% of capacity the production picked up.

Did you update your game ?
IIRC there were a couple of bugs with the coal-production in the early versions.

And BTW... there is a good reason why the game switch back to demand.
Probably your costprice is to high....
