Chris:

Sounds great!...Looking forward to Update 3, hopefully later this week....if so, SR will have won the patch race over Crown of Glory from Matrix, my other great interest at the moment.

Funniest 'issue' fixed in Update 3:

There were a few interesting things we ran into as we tested & poked & prodded SR2010, but what I think is by far the funniest has to do with Artillery Units.

Armored Artillery (such as M109 Paladin units) have a small anti-air capability attached to their battalions, to fire at close air attacks.

As it turns out, the Artillery commanders decided to fire at the incoming aircraft with Artillery shells instead of the appropriate Anti-Air weapons they might have, which meant that any unfortunate friendly units in the hex under the air unit would get hit by artillery friendly fire

Chris noticed it one day when his Artillery fired at incoming Tomahawks and killed the poor National Guard dudes sitting in front :-?

Well generaly speeking you are right , but there are sircumstances in which the useage of nucler weapon, doesn't really matter anymore. For example, when you are in with most/all other regions and the WM already has kicked you out.

Is there something done to the "problem" discussed with AI ALWAYS declaring war when you reach their border in update 3?

Overall is there much done with the AI behaviour in update 3?

Excause me if I have missed the anserv to my questions on the forum...

Thank you for continue release updates that makes a good game even better! /SalK

A brief answer is that the AI has been improved. Should I detail it here are should I let you find out for yourself? I will say that I was pleasantly surprised during our test games quite a few times with the actions of the AI.

Has the economy of the game been modified substantially that it now supports long-term growth? :D

Prior to Update 3 the AI would only declare war on bordering regions, creating a big element of predictability - this has been changed in Update 3. Bordering is one of many factors they consider, but it is no longer necessary for war declarations.

As Legend says, there are other elements of the AI that have been improved as well. :-)

Though very-long-term games are not the focus of most of our efforts, the economy for long-term has definitely been improved in many ways. It is more stable and understands long-term growth issues much better.
