Kinda like the jsf,where many different countrys are underwriting it ?

That's a tricky one. We don't actually force players to research each unit individually. Once you reach tech level 108 you have access to the JSF but only if you have researched Thrust Vectoring technology. currently, there is no way to support joint research of a technology. Perhaps this could be done through diplomacy? Otherwise, we could easily set up a way to pick 2 technologies, you each research one, then trade the technologies when they are done.
