it all depends on your definition of fast the game will be extremely fast in the beginning,my computer used to pass the day in 3 seconds but in the year 2025 after i have built my economy, military& alliances the day would pass in 1-2 minutes but if you feel that the game is slow then use cheat endday also i have never change the graphics in the gameVirtokaii wrote:What settings should I use to make the game as fast as possible? The graphics aren't really a huge draw on the system compared to all the calculations; if you turn off Fog of War [You will need to start a new game, or do some tricky file-editing to make your current save a cache file and load a campaign that way] you will probably see a bit of performance.
If you use a multi-core system, try shifting priority to a specific core, it helps with some games.
As for the game's actual Graphical Options, they have never done *anything* to improve performance. At least on my system. The low-resolution satellite map looks the same as the high-resolution map. The cursor doesn't seem to change between Hardware and Software, and the driver fix for nVidia never did anything.
And if you think turning off fog of war is cheating, just get enough recon satellites in orbit to give you 100% coverage and then turn it off.
Edit: How did I get to the SR2010 forum? I could have sworn this was in 2020.
