Observation Balloons

Just an idea in case they are not yet considered as part of the Zeppelins DLC ( 8) ) ... http://www.westernfrontassociation.com/the-great-war/great-war-on-land/weapons-equipment-uniform/313-ob-bal-west.html#sthash.AnhsW8ZT.dpbs They could be very useful to spot that pesky artillery that fires ...

Re: Land Transport

After playing the game for a few days now, I can say that I actually like the "tempo" that using leg infantry forces into the game. It made us to be careful with timing the deployments. Not sure if it helps but how I see the rail transport working is something like this: Upon the "rail transport" co...

Re: Trench Warfare

Trenches are in the game. They take 3 days to build and can be garrisoned. They are just hex upgrades I fortified Germany's border en the 1914 campaign with them to test the concept and I'm surprised, they seem to work quite well. These initial test make me thing that garrisons are not longer just "...

Re: Machine gun battalions

Also, 4km isn't that far when you consider a hex is 16km. No, it isn't much but I bet that there are a lot of WWI artillery pieces which ranges is less that 16km ... My point, from a game mechanics point of view, is that MG batallions are not mobile as infantry and their equipment (the machine guns...

Re: Machine gun battalions

I'm not saying that in our time and age they are use for indirect fire... But history says that, they, indeed were use in that role (with some degree of success) during WW I, which is the timeframe we are interested in.

Re: Machine gun battalions

[_]B In my mind the indirect fire is that with parabol trajectory..I don't know for you... That is exactly what indirect fire means and it can be accomplished with any "firearm" that can be fired at an angle... :-) There are plenty of stories around of people struck by bullets fired to the air... T...

Re: Machine gun battalions

Dax, no need to be sorry! this is a discussion forum after all...And as long as we are civil to each other we can disagree all day long! :-) As per "how" ...well it is very simple actually ... MG rounds follow the same laws of physics as and other proyectile fired from conventional artillery . The d...

Re: Machine gun battalions

well, believe or not, machine guns were used as indirect fire support on WWI (effectiveness could be debatable). A good reading about it is A Rifleman Went to War by Herbert McBride (he was an american who served in the MG btn on the 2nd Canadian division iirc) My concern on game mechanics is that t...

Machine gun battalions

Are they in the game? As infantry or artillery? Since they were kinda fixed fire support units, I would suspect that they would be treated as artillery units in SRGW....

Land Transport

Considering that the vast majority of the land units in the map will be leg infantry, is there any plans to implement a land transport command similar the sea transport?

Re: Exiled Nations

Not sure if related but definitely similar: Playing as Taiwan, N. Korea declares war on me and S.Korea and Japan. NK defeat SK. Several SK partisan units formed and were destroyed by NK. After some time, I land troops on what it was SK and move north, Japan follows. At some point another SK partisan...
