Re: New Mod on Wiki - Cat Mod, version II

lot's of work here, and some very interistings thinks Felinis! ;) (...) AIRCRAFT Fixed wing transport and cargo aircraft will now respond to requests for "air transport" by land units. The land units requesting air transport must be located on or around air-strips or airports. Pre-position the fixed...

(...) I suggest you do a news search on the words Europe, and Muslim. If you would say they are angry because of economic hardships, then why aren't poor Christians bombing trains and rioting? I am not saying anything against Islam in general, but too many young Muslims are being loaded into the gu...

that is a great news, thanks much! :) Since SR2010 (and 2020 will certainly be at least as much than 2010) a game where you need to think twice before doing anything, being able to use notepad and excel (or similar tool) along it without "alttabing"will be very functional.

cheers,

it doesn't mean that the work done is not good, given the herculean work that it is, having only local irregularities is a good result.

i don't want the annoy you, i only wanted to report you details that you may not had the time to research when you did the work.

cheers,

cool :) Maybe that it could be implemented in the existing GUI, by using the "Construction" order. For exemple, a unit is ordered to entrench, then you send an engineer unit and give it the order "Construction" on the same hex than the entrenching unit. In my humble opinion, being helped by engineer...

i can tell you that no highway have been built trough teh Ardennes and since it was an (undefended) obstacle for Rommel's division 60 years ago, i don't think that it shouldn't be not a problem for a whole batalion. As being familiar with the area from a military pont of view (six years in the "Chas...

from my point of view, it's mostly the choice of the caliber that your army will use that have an impact at that level. For exemple, units in 7.62x51 have a more firewpower but 5.56 have anhigher combat time (more ammo for the same weight). PS: i agree that HOI's system is interisting, teh units was...

talking about surface units, you are more or less right if you take in acocunt that the ships have to be extensively refitted to be kept effective and finally become expenseive year by year in maintenance term. PS: about aged airframe, iirc, the last Dakota still in service was put in reserve in 200...

from my very personnal point of view, i would say that at that level, things are much linked to politic than religion. What i'm saying is that today religion have no more the power it had, both one people and states, that it had in middle ages. PS: in Yugo, it was an ethnical war, there were opposed...

(...)The scenario designer decides who a player is offered equipment from by specifiying the region code (discussed in some of our equipment file discussions) but only certain units in the game where marked above a zero availability.(...) European Landscape - Ardennes' Forests

living in the Ardennes (Marche-en-Famenne, military base in some scenario), i was a bit suprised to see that the area is classified as a light forest in game. is it any reason to not have it as "Dens FOrest/Hill"? given that the background of SR2020 is the same than 2010, i wonder if actual real life political situation can be seen as "hardcoded"? both countries know that they are too small to survive alone to any conflict in western europe (probably that the history is not lost for everyone ;) )so unify rath...

thanks for answering, it's very informative ;) is the initiative value also relative? for exemple, a unit with an initiative of 6 will fire twice more in a given time period than a unit with an initiative value of 3? IIRC this is not the case, there is a curved effect applied. Also, I'm fairly certa...

could you post the files please? i would love to have them in SR2010 :)

PS: it may be great if all recent vehicle family would require a tech but allowing cheaper units.

cheers,

Jan
