If you annex and re-colonize, does it create the same borders? Ideally I'll need the savegame from before the colonize action was taken.

hmm, maybe I was planning for 1877 but forgot to tell Nerei. Maybe you should ask him to assign you an ID within his set so you don't conflict with his mod?

I don't mean to pass the buck, but he's the one making all the models these days :)

... you usually take more territory than before... I've played a bunch since the last update and haven't noticed this. Can you give precise examples? Do you have a savegame? It's true that if I colonize a nation that had conquered others, I have to "liberate as colony" each of the dead regions. You...

If I wanted to create a custom map of a terraformed Callisto for example, how would I go about doing that? You need to make the file a .PNG then use it's name as the Background Image. One problem I see is that your map has a seam where it wraps. Calisto.jpg This will get you the MAPX and OOF files....

The mapeditor does not solve the issues mentioned above in this thread; new borders, orbats, relationships, leaders, roads/rails, industries, economic baselines and events

We always had a mapeditor, it's just publicly available now. If Modders want to do it...

I disagree with this suggestion. We had a tech level system similar to what you're describing in SR2010 and I prefer our current system.

Also, you say "always go bankrupt" but I've been able to play games running 20+ game years with large treasury totals.
