Finale

The meat of this story: All of my maneuver divisions had serious mobility problems due to the limited crossing sites, however the 1st, 2nd and 3rd DIV’s were simply ordered to maintain a blocking position. The immediate problem was with the 4th DIV who had only one bridge to cross the river and if...

(Note to self: must play again NE US as Washington)
I am just starting on the actually "meat" of this post. The first two posts were to set the stage with the final coming in a little while.

Ground related. I built an air wing of 12x A-10 aircraft to support the ground operations and they proved themselves time and again as a formidable platform. The A-10’s were dispatched in groups of three with nine attending to the Portland area and the remaining three assisting the effort vic Umat...

AAR: US: Washington - One battle

This AAR is focusing entirely on one combined arms operation that I orchestrated while playing as Washington. The game itself is still ongoing however discussion of the role of engineers has prompted me to post this. Setting: Standard game, US: Northwest, with me playing as Washington. I won't waste...

The idea of having one unit affect the stats of another has been considered a few times (in fact came up in discussions again just this morning) but is currently not supported by the engine and has been repeatedly rejected. I could see adding a rule that units on escort will do a bridging command i...

If an "intel" aspect of this game isn't possible then how about this: I press the F8 key to indicate a "QUERY" that I want to perform and a GUI prompts me to select the area of interest. I then use my mouse to click the upper left and lower right locations enclosing the area I want in the report. Th...

I like this idea although having it set for all units would overwhelm your email/message noise. If such an alert would be attached to a stack then I would see its use.

Great idea.

Not to metion what would happens if the crossing point is in the ZOC of an enemy unit or in range of enemy artillery... Draken, I appreciate your reply as you always have sound advice concerning SR. The enemy ZOC is already handled in game as to how your units are going to react and I don't believe...

Thanks for looking into this as I believe it will streamline, or improve (IMO), the military aspect of the game in terms of Combat Support. First I want to say that I like the current option of having control of building the number/type of engineer units as I can be more flexible in my strategy. Sec...

In future versions would it be possible to have a carrier created with its compliment of base number/type of aircraft? As the carrier suffers aircraft losses due to combat or other reason then a replacement request is automatically given the carrier to its home base to bring its number back to 100%....

Engineers/AVLB support

While play Washington I had in a stack 2x M1, 1x SP Mortar, 1x Inf National (wheeled), 1x Supply Truck and 1x M728 engineer vehicle. Their mission was to cross the river in the SE end of the state to provide overwatch on that corner. I gave the order to proceed and focused my attention elsewhere. Wh...

It's a damn pitty the overall score (80%) is dragged down by the AUDIO/SOUND -score (40%)........ Yeah, our average scores from all our reviews (not counting the single evil review  ) are generally 75-80%, and that's after all the sites mark us down for so-so graphics and no music. It's somet...

Completely turning off all incoming email from any particular department doesn't appear to me as being the only solution. I would rather receive one scheduled email from the departments on most issues and allow me one screen to say Yea or Nay to the group of suggestions. The only caveat would be mes...

Additional Map Needed for Scenario selection

While going through the process of deciding what region to play in any scenario I find myself questioning as to where, geographically, that region is located in respect to the other regions. Possible Solution: Provide a map on that screen showing the layout of the regions available for play in that ...

Re: Correct use of Artillery?

[quote="Journier"]Do some artillery pieces fire faster than others? If so which ones?quote] Journier, I can tell you that in the world of indirect fire (I have personally experienced both incoming and outgoing) you have to develop an organization for both close support (attached with the manuever el...
