Re: Suggestion for benchmarking SRU

That's right! Plus the settings would have to be comparable as well. So, anyone up to it? I would propose starting when the new update comes out.

Suggestion for benchmarking SRU

Heya, I got an idea. How about we do a benchmarking of SRU to determine which hardware is best to run it ? I'm particularly interesting to see results of 2-4-6-8 core CPUs and hyperthreading on vs off. We would have to lay down very specific conditions so they would be the same among all computers -...

Personally, I wouldn't mind paying for a DLC that will improve AI and add new features, like more future techs.
+1.

As for the release date of the next update I just hope they do what they want to do with it first before releasing. Supreme Ruler has taught me patience.

Re: Gun Emplacement Facility

gun emplacements really need some buffing to do going up in technology because in modern and onward ages they are nearly useless. I understand they ARE nearly useless in modern day, but they are not COMPLETELY useless, so it would be nice if they would have at least some buffs. After all, better def...

Re: SRU Linux

Naturally new people might discover the game but that is putting your faith in the Steam discovery algorithm which is not exactly good. Don't forget me, who would happily spread the news on IRC And Discord Linux gamer rooms  Was waiting to do that for a long time actually. Just kidding though...

Re: SRU Linux

Adding possibly 1/3 in support But you've said it yourself - it would probably be just a WINE wrapper, just like on MacOS, so it's probably a few hour work first time and a few minutes of work after each update to just wrap the Windows game into WINE and that's it. I know it can be done manually, b...

Forum IP is showing instead of the hostname

Check this out:
https://prnt.sc/j8u951 When I go to bgforums.com it autoamatically translates into this IP on any browsers I've tried. This has never happened with any other website for me. Ideas?

Wow you guys suck lol.

I played as Belarus in 2020 myself and recreated Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth quite easily.

Re: The kind of thing you do after 2000 hours of SR

Very nice rules! I just wish there were any good unit designs for small countries. They are usually VERY neglected. I find it unfair, that no matter what you do, you can't get really good unit designs as a small country when big countries get the best. As if playing a small country wasnt hard enoug...

Re: The kind of thing you do after 2000 hours of SR

That's a very nice game! I love it when players stop expanding at sensical size and then just try to influence the world in ways they see fit instead. I find it to be a very realistic kind of gameplay. I did a similar game starting as Belarus 2020 and recreating the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth (a...

Re: If my PC can handle SR2020, can it handle SRUltimate?

Pentium G3220 is a good CPU. I had worse and played SRU without problems. Seriously, going from 2core CPU to 4core CPU didnt help as much in SRU speeds as you could expect. I had Pentium G580 btw. The only issue is intel graphics - I remember it had issues with Supreme Ruler. However I believe that ...

Re: Concept of bombing raids / bomber command

Wow, didn't expect the AI to respond to this suggestion. I second the suggestion btw, the AI use of bombers is pathetic. I've seen empires fight over many years and finally lose - still with a thousand of bombers/multifighters just circling around many air bases doing nothing... Sometimes they get t...
