If a democracy becomes dictatorship, there is no way back, in this game. So I think it's good that countries are by default democratic. standartized performance test

add an in-game performance test that would maybe just let the game run for a few days and take FPS and seconds per day measurements on standardized camera placement, save file, game speed and so on?

I have no idea whether it would be hard to program soemthing like this in the game

Just my opinion: I think you are making a big mistake by making the game depend on random map generator. The SR games are already rather characterless, but now it will be over the top in this regard. I'm really hoping they eventually get around to adding the ability to release/create countries and rebellions, since that hurts replayability when you're trying to play a long game. :C This is my no.1 concern as well, as I like to play really long games (10-50 years) and it usually becomes too stat...

YoMomma in your example, nothing changes :) Russian lands controlled by other countries are just the other countries same as before, just with different territorial bounds. Russia remains as 1 country always, whether it exists or whether it is partisan country or a real one.
