Re: GDP Per Capita Update?

Not only that, but the OP quoted GDP (PPP), which this game does not use because it does not simulate purchasing power parities between countries. Under the PPP system, China's economy is the biggest in the world, but if you use nominal GDP, it is still several trillions smaller than the USA's.

Re: Ore, Coal & Power

This has been the case in every SR game. The marginal cost of the inflation resulting from employing these people is greater than the cost of importing the coal and iron, and these resources never run out because this planet is in a magical fairy universe which operates with different physical laws ...

Re: Impossible to develop a great economy?

I'm an economist and I've done various calculations based on in-game data many times and just came to the conclusion and acceptance that this is a game with its own economic model. The whole field of economics exists due to the scarcity of resources, but when you just consider the fact that labour a...

The relationship between PRODUCTION COSTS and MARKET PRICES

I notice that market prices seemed to be tied to my own production costs, that somehow if my production costs fall, that it affects the entire world's market prices. I've also noticed that market prices seem to be capped at a certain level relative to my production costs. Sometimes my production cos...

Re: How to deal with Labor Shortages?

i suppose high inflation could(should?) more adversly affect other countries opinion of you... thus you automatically get less favorable trade deals that 'offset' currency disparities. Inflation used to have a lot more effect in sr2020.. it was toned down in CW. High inflation could kill you in 202...

Re: How to deal with Labor Shortages?

I find that inflation is a bit of a pain, partly because I can be anal like that and hate to see my great economy with 35% inflation! But also because of the subsequent cost increases of everything. Although one thing I have considered is this... Surely if as country X I have an inflation rate of 4...

Re: The Falkland Islands

the Argentinians are obsessed with the Falklands, and I'm sure their **** government loves this fact, since it drives attention away from themselves and wins them political points if they adopt an aggressive policy towards the Falklands. However, I can't see the Argentinians realistically capturing ...

Re: anyway to reduce unit build time? What does GDP/c affec

missile production, planes and ships. Can we reduce build times for such units? I understand that it takes a few weeks to recruit a sailor that will man the ship but there should be a way to reduce the build time of the ship or plane itself. Also, what are the effects of having a high/low GDP/c? gd...
