Re: The Falkland Islands

Public dislike of the cuts is completely different, most Britains would support a war if an enemy invaded our territory.

The Falklands are British and no amount of bitching in South America will change that.

Re: The Re-rise of the British Empire.

The first few days of the war went exactly as planned... a massive French Assault backed up by the Dutch and Belgians moved through Spain. Though their numbers surprised the British stationed in southern Spain they had been told not to engage the main French Coaliltion's forces head on and try to ta...

Re: The Falkland Islands

Problem is public perception. The UK would lose a ton of Public support if one of their subs gets blown up, and they lose 1 billion dollars of material and 100 men. I can't comment fully as I don't know the technological prowess of Argentina's Navy but i'm sure our subs can see them before they can...

Re: The Re-rise of the British Empire.

farrellmeister wrote:good stuff, so can we be expecting a large British invasion of Europe soon? Potentially sweeping into the USSR? ;)
Yes the hard bit will be destroying France as they have a massive amount of units But once i've took them out the Low Countries and Germany won't be too far behind...

Re: The Re-rise of the British Empire.

June 18th 1965 A group of highly trained Black Ops are planning to strain the bond between the already tense IBERIASEC soldiers... and Colonel Blakely has a plan... The men stand to attention as Colonel Blakely enters the makeshift barracks in an undisclosed location... "Gentlemen this is how this ...

Re: The Falkland Islands

Well, I think the Falklanders, The Brits and The Argentines should decide, but referendums. Do The Falklanders want to become part of Argentine and on what conditions(eg. with large Autonomy, demilitarized etc.), Do the Brits want to give the islands up and do Argentine want the islands? How a mili...

Re: The Falkland Islands

lol @ hillary clinton siding with argentina over GB over this. perfect example of where we need to stay the F out. if the UK owns the land and the people want to stay british, i see no reasoning for talks. america's economy is on the brink and we are still getting involved in #### like this. mind b...

Re: Will this invasion work?

To back up what SoB said yea it most definately works personally i'd have tried to get hold of Special Ops or Mountain Infantry rather than the bog standard paras but meh... Your gonna need alot of aircover as those paras will run out of supplies and be ready to get reinforcements to positions your ...

Would also be nice if Colonies could build up token armies...

Even if they weren't amazingly large (Like the Chinese ground forces  ) would still help I suppose

Re: The Falkland Islands

Hopefully so :-) Although 'He who walks on water' has been cosying up with the Latin Americans quite a bit lately. Hopefully his advisors would remind him who his best friends are  I mean you can sell things to any country on Earth its the daft sods that follow you into battle who really count...

Re: The Falkland Islands

Although I have no doubt that the Argies would beable to take the islands if they put most of their military 'might' into it. I don't think they would beable to hold - at least for long - the islands if taken. Firstly our level of Submarine technology is going to be way above theirs getting any rein...

Re: The Falkland Islands

I'd like them to stay with Britan, but I'd like to see them keep it. Right now, England doesn't have the abilty to power project like they did in 82'. So if the Argies want them, they're going to get them. Yea the British Government has really gambled on Argentine goodwill, Maybe threats with our S...

The Falkland Islands

Had a very long conversation with my Dad and cousin today about the Falkland Islands. Me and my Dad both been more 'right leaning' than my cousin both think they should stay British no matter what and my cousin for instance thinks talks should happen with the Argentines. I think hes a complete idiot...
