Re: Aggressive AI and other musings

A more challenging AI is,in principle, a good idea. Having the AI "ganging up" up on a human player because hes human is a bit of a hack of course. But the goal is of course to have an enjoyable and challenging game. Being allowed to turtle forever without any competition isnt very intersting. And u...

Re: New Feature - Return Land / Liberate

Sounds interesting :-) .

So its main use is for a player to return land that would rebell to a hopefully friendly region?

Re: Non steam version

I'm not sure what the problem with DRM is anyways, as long as it isn't invasive... apparently developers aren't allowed rights to control their work? That's an awfully naive way to see things... Because as a customer Im looking to spend money on a product and not a service, even at the expense of c...

Re: Non steam version

Well, lets not forget that STEAM (unlike GOG) is a form of DRM. Sure, it is only as restrictive as the devs want it to be but in the end you will always need STEAMs permission to install/activate. I have heard from people who had games from their libraries removed, and even if these stories arent tr...

Re: Coups

I have always been wondering if these are scripted while playing SRCW, now I know. But if they are scripted what is funding the opposition/insurgents for? On that note what is a good DAR for if you cant loose by letting it go down too far? This is a point that was handled better in the first Supreme...

Re: GC and SW Old techs still researchable

I dont know if this has been brought up before but it concerns tech:
Will the tech level requirement for units be back?
That, in my opinion, was a feature that worked reasonably well,

Re: Non steam version

..... The best us dinosaurs can do is keep in touch, when we locate a good game that does not require a third party middleman, inform others and reward the development studios that refuse to bow to their overlord or the "sacred cow" of market saturation. Well, GOG does offer games that are DRM free...

Re: Supreme Ruler Ultimate Announcement

...Is there a complete list of the new features the engine will bring?... For stuff that was new in SR 1936, dig around for them manual. It has a section on feature changes. Ultimate will have a much smaller number of feature changes. It is priced accordingly and has been given a development schedu...

Re: Supreme Ruler Ultimate Announcement

...Does that mean if I play the 2020 campaign in the new game that there will be factions? The sphere system will be there, but we'll be making adjustments so that the diplomacy in the 2020 era works much more like it did in the 2020 engine. Not sure if it will be a hard switch or gentle shift duri...

Re: Supreme Ruler Ultimate Announcement

Just got the word. A new "Supreme Ruler" title in the works. And it sounds like its going to be some kind of compilation that lets you play in "different epochs". Im not sure how to imagine that working. The game went a long way from SR2010 to 2020, Cold War and finally 1936. 2020 already didnt have...

Re: insurgency, and opposition funding

Somtimes I see a coup happening in countries where I founded the opposition/insurgency.
Im not sure if it wouldnt have happened anyway though.

This is one of the features that could be more transparent.

Re: 1949 GC, AI nuclear weapon use

I'm sure my computer hates me :-) This feature can be used to create some nice tension and make the player more fearful of outright war with the major players, and it fits in very well into the scenario and into the ability of the SRCW Engine. It is half a wargame after all. I think this arms race s...
