Re: No one research new units- Sandbox Game

Many thanks for the prompt replies, gentlemen. So minor powers trying to catch up tech wise would have bumped into a glass wall, which is partially mitigated by the sales of advanced units from friendly countries? Also, is it still possible to change to play other countries by using the multiplayer ...

No one research new units- Sandbox Game

Hi, I am now playing a 1958 sandbox game as Taiwan and trying to buy new unit techs from the majors, but the problem is none of the countries in the world researched new units. What I am describing seems to be different from what had already been reported in relation to research technology, as I cou...

Cannot build on captured land and capture cities from sea

Hi, I was playing a 7.2.1 Taiwan. As proxy Vietnam War spread to China, I decided to take advantage of the distraction and try to carve out a slide of south-eastern mainland China for myself. As I only have a few amphibious unit and one amphibious assault ship, I decide to use an trick dated from SR...

Re: ecconomic death

As tkobo said another thread, the economic model is more challenging in SRCW and it's an interesting change. However, the current design seems to mandate one solution only: bulk buy resource to develop sulf-sufficiency of industrial goods. I'd like propose an alternative way to tighten up the econom...

Re: Unit Errata

This is a minor point, but the British battleship Vanguard is named as "DDR Vanguard". I didn't know the Vanguard was somewhat related to East Germany.

1 year end date for Sphere Victory Condition games

Hi, just started a sandbox game using UK with Sphere as victory condition and "no end date" as time limit. But the game end date always shows up "8/10/1950" in the option screen when I launch the game. I haven't tried all victory conditions yet, but the "Capital" setting does give me a "no end date"...

Military Aid from the Blocs to Developing Countries

Hi, I wonder how would the developers planned to deal with military aid. While SR2020-GC does allow military trade/aid, I opined that a more sophisticated military aid system is needed. The two blocs delivered MASSIVE amount of military aid, at almost no financial cost to the receipent, to the devel...

Re: SSM Capacity of the Swedish Visby class corvette

Thank you, Balthagor. Apart from the Visby-class, I have the nagging impression that there are more ships with mismatched missile size problem...but I don't have the hard data now.

Hullu Hevonen wrote: 4*8 = 32, should have a missile size of 32?
I don't have the missile volume of the Visby class with me right now, but the current config of the in-game Visby class means it can only carries size 2 missiles.

SSM Capacity of the Swedish Visby class corvette

According to the brochure published by the shipbuilder Kockums AB, the Visby class is able to carry 8 RBS15 Mk2 anti-ship missiles, but the in-game (v 6.6.2) Visby class cannot do so, because the in-game Visby class's max missile size is 2 and the RBS15 is a size 4 missile, meaning the in-game Visby...

Conscription Option and Reservists

I miss the option of conscription in SR2010 a lot right now (Playing Malaysia, attempting to conquer SEA with a unemployment rate of 3.1% and 11% inflation). As most of the players will, intentionally or unintentionally, build a large army and development economy simultaneously, it will be nice to h...

Re: Different types of Social Spending and Taxes

Communist Regimes have a GDP/c penalty, lower DEFCON benefits and problems after vote against their communist party. Democratic Nations have a multi-party system, you need only ~31% to win a election. You cant compare the 2 systems. Actually my question wasw over forms of "democracy". Prior to our ...

Re: A peaceful and all allied shattered world

regions will break treaties at times. some of the calmer scenarios are meant to allow the player to make the first move. when you say that all regions are allied do you mean ALL of them or just lots and lots of alliances? what difficulty level are you playing on? on the easiest level there might be...

Re: A peaceful and all allied shattered world

Are you running the latest version 5.4.1? Have you read the campaign descriptions PDF included in the game folder? This may give you a clearer picture of what to expect from each campaign. Yes, I've just bought SR2020 two days ago and I did have read the descriptions. I've chosen "Shattered World" ...

Re: A peaceful and all allied shattered world

I understand "Shattered World" is the peaceful variant of "Melting Pot", but we are talking about a massively unbalanced world in the campaign (As compared to today), there is no war in Asia even if both Japan and ROK have large numbers of fab slots (I've 100% CB against Japan and about 75% CB agai...
