Re: Brazil, the new superpower. (AAR with screenshots)

A good read so far, I like the format and details of your military ops. Look forward to the next update

Starforce?
Yurg, will probably steer clear of that then. Its always seemed like a particularly intrusive protection system when I've had games with it in the past

This one looks interesting, but I have a nagging voice telling me not to buy it.
If you could offer a bit of feedback on how the game plays it would be much appreciated.
Intelligent behaviour between nations, economic system. any interesting random events etc.

Thanks

I would be extremely worried if the AI conducted an overseas invasion when the game designers have said its not programmed to do so.

Images of nuclear holocaust and then rampaging endoskeletons spring to mind. :o

Hmmm.. The slider for tech level spending is limited at 100%, the only one you can push over 100% is the efficiency funding, which I guess would improve your research times. Also, I know in SR2010 that if you built more research centres this would enable you to spend more money on research, i.e 100%...

Muhahaa, 5 hundred kajillion dollars per day. That's good that it can't be done in 2020. I think I recall reading the AI has been programmed not to buy a certain amount above typical market price. On a slight aside, when negotiating in the diplomacy screen the, "value" of the goods is presumably bas...

Also scary that it doesn't seem so ridiculous anymore either

Hehe, well thats efficiency for you.

Update one isn't available for download yet so I assume its going through the publisher QA process before release.

Must remember to download the gamersgate one, as retail version updates usually install a cd-check.

I'm not likely to go to war anytime soon, at least I hope not as my armed forces are pitiful.

War has an effect on getting goods from the world market? is this because of embargos?

I didn't think embargos were in the game any more as can't see an option on not selling goods to a particular country.

Hopefully the ability to build ocean facilities will be in the 1st update. My poor Wales is woefully short on petrol and needs all the help it can get. Though good old Scotland is helping me out as best they can. I understand there's probably a lot of things BG want to tweak so perhaps this may not ...

Just to note that it seems possible to set up continous trades with the AI for resources but they seem to always want a large lump sum up front at the start just for setting up the trade. e.g. ask for a continous trade of petroleum from Saudi Arabia for a reasonably fair price, they'll come back wit...

Selling conditions - favourable vs unfavourable

Trying to get my head around the game and also some basic economics. I'm making a surplus of consumer goods and selling conditions are "favourable". I'm getting $20M a day from these so thinking of expanding production. I'm importing industrial goods from the world market as I'm not producing enough...

This information is not directly available in the game at the moment. Best you can do is deactivate the current facility and see the effect it has on your production. Hopefully this info will be made available in a future update. Be nice to see how much production a facility will give you before you...

The economy part of the game is my favourite thing so far, though it seems to take a while to get a feel for how things work. New game as Wales and my GDP is dropping, unemployment rising to 6% and my inflation is now about 0.5%. Getting some facilities constructed to try and get the unemployment ba...
