Re: Announcement: Supreme Ruler Cold War !

Excellent choice. I think the SR engine will really shine in a Cold War timeline. I'm looking forward to it!

Re: GAME SPEED VOTE

I've noticed that, running a 1.8 GHz/512MB RAM machine, keeping the speed at normal seems to run faster that double-speed or higher once the wars start. I haven't actually tested this, but I've noticed it enough that it seems real. Just an FYI for those with lower-end machines.

Sorry about that. I fell asleep reading around 4. I should be on a better schedule by the next attempt.

I've only had the game for a few days, and haven't had much of an opportunity to play. Also, I will have been up for nearly 24 hours at this point, so I might be a little tired :-). But I'll try to join in and add to the diplomatic fun!

We decided to postpone the game since only me and tkobo were there. If people want to suggest what times are good for them, we can try to agree on another date.

Feltan is right about the time zone. We'll decide the scenario once we see how many are playing, but most likely it will be Africa. I looked at all the regions, and they are surprisingly well-balanced (with the exception of South Africa). The game will be an IP game, with the address being 137.99.14...

Ok, I went through the maps that were mentioned. The mideast has only about five playable regions, so if we have more players than that it won't be an option. Indomalaysia's countries are too small in my opinion, and it would take forever to build up a decent army. Africa looks like a pretty good ma...

Anyone for a game?

I think it would be a lot of fun if we could get 4-8 players together and play one of the bigger maps. We should probably shoot for late November or early December, since the forums are somewhat quiet right now  . I'm willing to host, and it will be an IP game. Post if you're interested.

I like this idea. Would it maybe include statistics for the user, such as wins/losses/etc.? This could be especially useful for MP as others could view it and see who they're going up against :-) .

I don't see the US ever "collapsing" (though his term in this case is a bit vague anyway) but rather slowly corroding until it is no longer recognizable as "the United States" is today. There are already a number of signs of decay (such as the massive federal debt, the weak dollar, etc) but none of ...
