Sometimes i use missile boats to cover coasts as a cheap ... well ... patrol. I also use the ones that have bigger range then 1 hex to bombard enemy units from the shore. But in general i don't produce them and mostly scrap them for resources. They have very low detection ranges, low survivability, ...

Sounds really good. :-)

Can i suggest that techologies that improve rail infrastucture also increase speed of rail transport? It would make them better/faster in modern and future era's.

There is a good number of errors and incosistencies in DEFAULT.UNIT file. The one mentioned by Evildari or those gun emplacements are just a few to mention. Ok, just looked into the file. It's actually 'initiative' field. It's set to 0 like other buildings. Setting it to 1 or 2 fixes it. Higher initiative actually increases fire rate of a unit from what i saw, probably why i miss-remembered it.

Gun emplacements don't fire because their rate of fire is wrong in the DEFAULT.UNIT file. I changed it to a normal value (still slow fire) and it worked. Gun emplacements also don't have firing sound so it can be difficult to actually notice them firing - that can also be fixed in the same file. I d...

I agree. You can see unit changes in DEFAUL.Units file anyway.

I noticed this too on shattered world scenario as well. Random countries with no rubber production apparently make deals to SELL rubber and then miss shipments.

I do remember creating 3 types of factories for my mod. One had only 1 unit production, second 2 and third ... well ... 3. I tested them in game and indeed they had production as intended. I didn't limit them to only one certain type of units but I do remember AI favoring to build the factories with...
