Re: Merchant marines issue

"work for free" Nobody should work for free. We understand the frustration here, but that line is hyperbole. Everyone has bills and responsibilities they need to handle as priorities. Business requires an investment. A project like this requires a large investment of time. That is not 'working for f...

Re: Merchant marines issue

I think all of the longtime players of this series appreciate the position you guys are in. This kind of serious strategy game has a narrow niche of hardcore, sometimes demanding players, and a wide scope in terms of gameplay. Personally, I appreciate both views here. Yes, as a player some things ca...

Re: 10 billion treasury treshhold, Do not pass it!

The economic model of this game and SR36 is worse than in previous games. Best economic model was in SRCW, even with its issues... PS: and the developers don't release the economic game formulas and explain how to change them, so we can at least mod it... BlackEagle makes some good points although ...

Re: Any way to bring up the full technical readout of units in the Diplomatic Exchange/Unit & Missile Designs screen?

I agree that it would be nice to know the exact stats when trading designs. Instead of working around the issue by loading a new save, I like to think of it as part of the game. The stats advertised by the country selling the unit design might not be 100% accurate. Perhaps they are exaggerating to m...

Re: Loyalty?

A good example of the broken loyalty mechanic would be N. Yemen conquering Adan. As BG stated on page one of this thread, the French did not gain loyalty in Indochina. However, some governments may have a better claim to territory than the existing rulers. Penalizing N. Yemen in a Cold War game for ...

Re: Non steam version

Received this in my Inbox today: "GamersGate: Supreme Ruler Ultimate Early Access" I am also interested in a non-steam version. I appreciate BG's position concerning steam. At this time I am unwilling to use steam. Other issues like naval AI seem more important to me. Ideally, BG will address some o...

Re: Victory Over a country

Why not prompt to colonize, liberate, or annex each loyalty region/battlezone? Having the option to colonize/annex/liberate before the war's end would also be useful.

Re: Navies Fail to Sail or Escort

In this regard the AI is just not challenging enough for players. A small nation like Liberia can go to war with France for West Africa simply by controlling the seaports. The AI will send units along the same predictable path time and time again. A few well placed patrols of subs escorted by air su...

Re: How about some save game info?

The work around seems simple enough that this should be a low priority. My ideal save/load interface would display a minimap of the world & current conflicts. Transferring saves from the multiplayer folder is another reason to alt-tab. It is easy enough to keep a shell open in another window for mov...

Are you talking about 'free trade' agreements? It seems like you could make money indirectly by using your trading partner's surpluses.

, in most cases their output stayed constant (or even increased) (ie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_armored_fighting_vehicle_production_during_World_War_II ) This ties into another thread about the German industrial base. There is a popular argument that this was a result of DE having an under...

I want to define my own resupply routes for units in a given battle zone. Units frequently march into the enemy when resupplying.

You need to go all in. Declare war and deploy naval assets. Consider recapturing a small area of China for use as a base.

Re: Multiplayer

I don't think a dedicated server would be feasible, that would mean that you would have to dedicate more calculating power to the server, which would require quite an expensive processor to run. Making a server that only connects gamers would be useless, since the current setup already does that. S...
